Man Kills Self After 4 Minor Boys Threaten To Leak Sex Videos With Girlfriend
A 32-year-old man in India killed himself after being allegedly blackmailed by four minor boys who threatened to leak his sex videos.
The incident took place Thursday in the southern state of Karnataka. According to the police, the victim – identified as Supreeth K – was found dead inside the washroom of a hotel, The Times of India reported.
The police told local media the man booked a room in a hotel Thursday afternoon. In the evening, the hotel staff saw water coming out from Supreeth’s room, and when they knocked at the door, no one responded. The hotel staff then used a duplicate key to open the room and found the victim's body inside.
Preliminary investigation revealed Supreeth consumed poison to kill himself, A note found inside the room was purportedly written by him. In the note, he named four minor boys who forced him to end his life. He stated the boys filmed him and his girlfriend in a compromising position while they were at a hotel.
The boys began extorting money from Supreeth and threatened to leak the video if he did not pay them.
On Friday, the police arrested all four named in the note after registering a case of abetment to suicide, ANI News reported. The four have confessed to having blackmailed the deceased man for money. It is believed Supreeth paid the boys nearly $70 (5,100 INR), but they wanted more money from him. The police did not reveal the date when the video was taken. The accused have not been named as they are minors.
Last week, a teenager killed himself after her brother accidentally broke her smartphone. The incident took place in the northern state of Uttarakhand. The 19-year-old had bought the phone with her savings. She got angry after her brother mistakenly dropped the phone while he was playing video games on it. Disappointed that the phone broke, the girl locked herself in the room and killed herself.
