A mother of six children was strangled and boiled in a cauldron by her husband as her children spectated the horrific act.
Authorities found the body of the 32-year-old mother, identified as Nargis, Wednesday in a pot in the kitchen of a private school in Pakistan's Sindh province, The News reported.
The woman's husband, Ashiq, worked as a watchman at the school. He was reportedly living in the school's accommodation for staff despite it being sealed for around eight to nine months, the police told Geo News.
The police rushed to the school after receiving a phone call made on the helpline by the deceased's 15-year-old daughter. The victim's body was then taken to a local hospital for medical and legal formalities.
The preliminary investigation in the case found the woman's husband was violating the rules by using the school's servant quarters.
Following the incident, the suspect fled with his three children, while the other three kids remained in police custody. "We have three children with us," Sherazi told The News. "They are shocked and traumatized.”
According to the police, the investigations and the children's testimony indicated the suspect strangled his wife to death with a pillow before boiling her in the cauldron, while his children helplessly watched. The accused had also severed one of the victim's legs from her body in order to fit her into the pot.
The real motive behind the murder was undetermined at the time of the publication, but it has been confirmed by authorities Ashiq murdered his wife when she refused to oblige him and engage in illicit relations.
The man is on the run and the police are conducting raids to track him down.
"We have his [suspect's] two cell phone numbers, but he has switched both of them off," Sherazi told the outlet. "We're tracking him down and will arrest him soon.”
