A man raped his teen daughter by blackmailing her with a video of her having sex with her boyfriend. The incident took place in the western Indian state of Maharashtra.

According to local reports, the incident came to light in November after the mother of the 17-year-old girl found nude videos of her on her phone. She confronted her daughter about it. The girl revealed that her father was taking the videos. Following the confrontation, the mother of the girl filed a police complaint.

During investigation, the unidentified teen said she was in a relationship with a 17-year-old collegemate. She revealed that the boy had come over to her home to complete a college project in July. He got intimate with her and sexually assaulted her. A few hours after the boy went to his home, her father approached her and showed her a video of the two getting intimate. He then began blackmailing her and told her he would show the video to her mother and also make it viral. He then raped her the following morning.

The 40-year-old unidentified accused was booked by police Friday and his anticipatory bail was rejected. The 17-year-old boyfriend was also booked for rape, but was out on bail. Investigation into the case was ongoing.
