Man Repeatedly Rapes Woman He Intended To Marry, Beheads Her 5-Year-Old Son

A man in Nigeria was arrested for raping a woman and beheading her five-year-old son, police said in a news conference Friday.

Police said the unidentified 37-year-old man was a commercial motorcyclist. On Dec. 8, the victims boarded his motorcycle from a market. The accused, however, diverted them to his home where he raped the 34-year-old unidentified woman three times. The following day, he beheaded her son.

“The following day, the suspect took the woman’s son to another room and beheaded him. He claimed to have dumped the remaining body at a nearby bush beside his house. The remaining body part was later recovered at the backyard of the suspect and deposited at the mortuary of the General Hospital for autopsy,” police said.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and said he was trying to befriend the woman and wanted to marry her. He, however, said he didn’t know what prompted him to kill her son. He added that the body was not used for performing any ritual.

The accused remained in custody, however, there was no information regarding the charges levied on him. An investigation was ongoing.
