Following the shootings in El Paso and Dayton that dominated headlines, a Walmart in Missouri was thrown into a panic after a heavily armed individual was seen in the store.

The incident occurred Thursday afternoon at a Walmart in Springfield, Missouri. While people were going about their business, a man in his twenties was seen walking around the store in full body armor and military fatigues. He was also carrying around a rifle, a handgun and over 100 rounds of ammunition while walking around, sending shoppers into a panic.

As the man walked around, he was seen pushing a cart while recording a video on his phone. He was eventually stopped and held at gunpoint by an armed, off-duty firefighter while local police rushed to the store in response to a call for a possible active shooter. The store manager also pulled the fire alarm and evacuated the store safely.

The armed man was eventually identified as 20-year-old Dmitriy Andreychenko. While his name was not intially released by police, he was identified through a Springfield Police Department press release after his arrest.

“He walked in here, heavily armed with body armor on, in military fatigues, and caused a great amount of panic inside the store,” Springfield police Lt. Mike Lucas told media. “Obviously, what's happened in Texas and Dayton and all that kind of stuff in the last seven days — that’s on everybody’s minds.”

Lucas also said that the young man was “lucky to be alive” considering the chaotic scene he caused. Andreychenko is currently being held in Green County Jail and facing first degree charges of making a terrorist threat.
