Man Shoots Cat With BB Gun In Florida, Feline Found Lying In Caretaker’s Driveway Bleeding
A community cat was shot with a BB gun in Kissimmee, Florida, on Monday.
Ashley Perkins and A.J. Bellaflores, the caretakers of the feline, found it lying in their driveway bleeding. They rushed the feline, named Bailey, to a nearby vet who informed them that the feline was shot by a BB gun. The vet also informed them that a bone in the feline’s paw was “completely shattered.”
Recalling the incident, Perkins said, "Basically, there's a neighbor who's very unsettled about the community cats. We came out on March 2 about 7 a.m. and found one of the community cats lying in the driveway bleeding, in an obvious amount of pain.”
After taking the cat to the vet, Perkins went to the police station to file a complaint.
"We did call and file with animal control, but I also went down to the Kissimmee Police Department this morning, because I just didn't want to let it lie and I met with CorporalCpl. Anthony and he really was amazing and within 30 minutes of me being home from the Kissimmee Police Department, he had three deputies here," Perkins said.
The police officers checked the CCTV footage which confirmed that it was the neighbor who had committed the crime. The man was facing charges of animal cruelty.
