Man Shoots Woman And Gets Killed By The Bullet As It Exits Her Body
Dallas, Texas -- A man who allegedly fired a gun at a woman was killed by the same bullet as he unintentionally shot himself in the leg. Byron Redmon, 26, reportedly shot the unidentified woman in the neck inside a Dallas apartment.
Cops arrived at the apartment complex in Medical District near Bengal Street after a 911 call reported a shooting incident at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Responding officers arrived to find a large amount of blood along with a trail of blood outside the front door of the apartment. However, nobody was present inside the residence at the time, according to Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Redmon and the woman, who survived, were later found in a hospital.
“Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2200 block of Medical District,” the police department wrote in a statement. “When officers arrived they could see a large amount of blood and a blood trail in front of an apartment. No one was located inside the apartment.”
“At the same time, a call came in at a nearby hospital of a male and a female found outside in a vehicle, with gunshot wounds,” the department added.
Investigators believe Redmon first shot the woman in her neck. The bullet then exited the woman’s body and struck Redmon in the leg, investigators noted.
The man eventually died of his injuries at the hospital.
Dallas police spoke to WFAA and noted that the woman was provided treatment for her wounds. She was eventually discharged on the same day Redmon took a shot at her.
Details of the relationship between Redmon and the woman and the circumstances that led to the shooting were not revealed.
The incident is currently being investigated, according to CBS News.
In an unrelated incident reported in 2020, a 30-year-old woman’s breast implants saved her from what could have been a fatal gunshot. The woman experienced pain and immediately saw herself bleeding while walking down the street in 2018. Doctors later found that her left silicone breast implant had deflected the bullet and sent it over to the other implant. The bullet remained lodged in the right chest.
