A man allegedly stabbed a teenager on an Upper Manhattan train early Thursday for ignoring his question. Cops are currently on the lookout for the assailant.

The victim, a 19-year-old girl, was on a train at 181st Street in Washington Heights when the incident took place at around 12:30 a.m., according to CBS New York. The teen's boyfriend was also with her at the time. When the attacker approached them and asked for the time, the couple did not respond, cops said.

Despite asking the couple several times, he was ignored by the two passengers, cops said. The suspect then turned away from them before turning back and attacking the woman. Police said the assailant stabbed her in the arm before escaping from the train, according to New York Post.

The victim was taken to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Cops said the 19-year-old joins at least three other victims that were stabbed overnight in the Upper Manhattan and the Bronx area. One incident, which unfolded just 15 minutes after the 19-year-old teen was knifed, saw a 39-year-old man having a scuffle with another man in the Kingsbridge Heights section of the Bronx. Cops said the 39-year-old was stabbed and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. Police said the suspect fled the scene in this case as well.

Another stabbing incident took place just after midnight as a 24-year-old man was walking down a street in Hamilton Heights, cops said. The armed attacker stabbed the victim from behind and left him wounded in the back and on his right thigh. The motive behind the attack remains unclear as the victim was uncooperative. He received medical attention at Harlem Hospital.

Less than three hours before, another 52-year-old man was knifed in Hamilton Heights on Wednesday at around 9:50 p.m., cops said. The man was stabbed in his upper right arm but did not suffer life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Harlem Hospital. The motive for the attack was not disclosed.
