A 27-year-old man was arrested for brutally attacking a woman bearing his unborn child at a parking lot in Florida.

A witness in the area was able to put an end to the attack by brandishing a gun, according to the arrest report.

Cole Joseph Danisment, of Largo, was with the victim at a Publix parking lot at around 5:17 p.m. Saturday when he went into a fit of rage, Pinellas County deputies said.

The woman was 14 weeks into her pregnancy when Danisment punched her in the face multiple times, knocking her to the ground, according to WFLA News Channel 8.

Danisment is accused of then stomping on the woman's head and upper body while being aware that she is pregnant, officials noted in the arrest report.

The witness said he pulled a gun on Danisment, which prompted the accused to stop.

The attack was described by the witness as being "so brutal in nature" that he thought the victim might not survive, the report said.

First responders arrived at the scene to find the woman "covered in large amounts of blood" and was left with a broken nose, ABC Action News reported.

While being interrogated by deputies, Danisment said he and the victim had been dating for about a year. He also said they were living together for roughly a month. However, deputies noted that Danisment has exhibited violent behavior toward the woman in the past.

He was arrested on Oct. 11 for an alleged domestic battery that involved the same victim. He was placed under a no-contact order at the time but continued showing "a pattern of violence toward the victim regardless of the no-contact order," officials said.

Although the victim was 14 weeks pregnant, she only told Danisment about it "a couple of weeks ago," according to the accused man's account.

Danisment also claimed he "saw red" and blacked out during the Saturday incident but did not deny launching the brutal attack on the victim.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery on a pregnant female.

An unrelated incident was reported last month after a pregnant woman was violently attacked by a young teenager in Perth, Australia. She was captured on video being dragged by her hair while pushing her toddlers in a pram.
