  • English Premier League legend Danny Murphy shared his thoughts on Jadon Sancho
  • Murphy thinks Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be pleased with Sancho's ability to improve Manchester United's attack
  • Solskjaer wants the winger to "blossom" with the Red Devils

Jadon Sancho may have something that would thrill Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his maiden season at Manchester United.

Fans have been longing to finally see Sancho grace the pitch in a Manchester United uniform.

Ahead of Sancho’s debut, Liverpool legend and Sportsmail columnist Danny Murphy assessed how Solskjaer could benefit from the winger.

According to Murphy’s detailed analysis, Sancho is such a well-rounded attacker, who knows exactly “when to pass” and when to score goals.

“[Sancho’s] arrival gives Ole Gunnar Solskjaer great options at Manchester United,” Murphy wrote. “He loves playing on the right, which gives United the chance to play Mason Greenwood down the middle, which he prefers. What Sancho has, which is really special for a wide player, is fantastic end product in terms of goals and assists. It’s down to his awareness and decision making, he knows when to pass, when to cross, when to be more selfish and go for goal.”

“The way he glides over the pitch makes him a nightmare to mark because he can drop his shoulder and go inside or outside, defenders don’t know how to stop him,” he continued.

Furthermore, the 44-year-old is certain the Red Devils boss will be pleased with Sancho’s ability to create chances for Manchester United’s prolific strikers.

“I suspect Sancho will hit the ground running once he’s had a few training sessions,” he added. “He’ll be full of confidence and what Solskjaer will like is that he’s a real team player; if he can set up chances for [Edinson] Cavani, [Mason] Greenwood, [Anthony] Martial and [Marcus] Rashford, he will. All great teams need that.”

This will be the first time Sancho will be under the tutelage of Solskjaer.

The Norwegian coach has been well aware of the forward’s skill set and he is expecting the former Borussia Dortmund to reach the pinnacle of his career with Manchester United.

“Jadon epitomises the type of player I want to bring to the club, he is a forward player in the best traditions of Manchester United,” Solskjaer told Manchester United’s official website. “He will form an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him blossom. His goals and assists records speak for themselves and he will also bring tremendous pace, flair and creativity to the team.”

“Old Trafford will give him the platform he needs to release his untapped talent and perform at the highest level,” the coach added. “For a player of his age, Jadon has already achieved a great deal and showed the courage to go and prove himself abroad. We all look forward to welcoming Jadon to the squad as we prepare for the new campaign.”

Sancho has already joined Manchester United in training and is expected to be featured in the English Premier League season opener against Leeds United on Saturday.
