Aside from searching for a new long-term manager, Manchester United may also consider bringing in more signings.

Massive changes are expected to happen at Manchester United in the coming days given the club is already working on identifying Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s replacement.

However, adding more elite-level players has also become a possibility as well.

Manchester United has constantly been linked to a transfer move for a wide array of notable players around the world and the upcoming transfer windows are likely to be no different.

The club has already brought in longtime target Jadon Sancho and followed it up by pulling off the sensational return of Cristiano Ronaldo.

This time, Manchester United has got its sights on another world-class player—Paris Saint Germain’s Neymar, Catalan news outlet El Nacional reported.

International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

According to the report, Manchester United has revived its hope that Neymar would fancy playing for the English Premier League as the club banks on the Brazilian’s past comment which states that "all the big players have to play in the Premier League."

Neymar’s possible arrival at Old Trafford would be perfect timing as Manchester United is “desperately looking for leaders” who could catapult the team back to the top, the report said.

Atop that, the report also noted that with the help of the “around €275 million ($309.38 million)” loan from new sponsors TeamViewer, Manchester United is positive a move for Neymar will be possible.

Real Madrid’s Vinicius is also on the list, but the report added that Manchester United views Neymar as a “more viable and cheaper” signing.

Neymar is widely considered as one of the greatest players of all time, and a transfer move will not be as easy as it sounds.

With Manchester United having the reputation of pulling off unexpected transfers, anything could be possible at this point.

Manchester United will now be managed by caretaker manager Michael Carrick. He will be in charge when the club faces Villarreal and possibly Chelsea as well.

Revealing what Manchester United higher-ups have told him about the club’s future plans, Carrick bared that the “mindset” at the moment is to win games.

"In terms of what I've been told, my mindset is preparing for tomorrow, giving my best," he said. "I know the club very well, been here an awfully long time now. It's the sacrifice and dedication you need whether that is one game, two, or a stretch longer.”
