  • Roy Keane blasts Portugal's Joao Felix following the team's Euro 2020 exit
  • Keane advises Cristiano Ronaldo to confront Felix about it
  • The Atletico Madrid attacker has been dubbed by some as the "New Ronaldo"

A furious former Manchester United captain wants Cristiano Ronaldo to reach out to one of his teammates to address a certain issue.

Roy Keane is one of the most outspoken Manchester United legends the sport has been enjoying at present as a pundit.

Following Portugal’s recent Euro 2020 exit, Keane expressed his disappointment over Joao Felix’s apparent incompetence.

According to the seven-time English Premier League champion, Ronaldo should confront Felix, who has been dubbed by some as the “New Ronaldo” in the “dressing room.”

“He’s an imposter, your country needs you and he comes on–hit the target,” Keane told ITV Sport of Felix. “£100 million? If I was [Cristiano] Ronaldo I’d certainly be going after him in the dressing room.”

“I get really annoyed when they’re quality players,” he added. “There’s no excuse to be leaning back and just missing the target, just test the goalkeeper because these are top players there’s no getting around it.”

Apart from being compared to Ronaldo, Felix left Benfica for Atletico Madrid in 2019 via a staggering €126 million ($149 million in today’s conversion).

Addressing the pressure of becoming one of the most expensive teenagers in Europe, Felix insisted that he does his best to just “live with it.”

“People always talk about my price, but I forgot about that number and the price I cost,” the midfielder told Sportsmail earlier this year. “ I remember when people talked but I never thought about it. I lived with this pressure since I was 18 so I started young.”

“Sometimes it's difficult but I try to live with it the best way,” he continued. “News from football, for me, even if it is good or bad, I never see it.”

Felix was one of the pillars of Atletico Madrid’s 2020-21 La Liga championship run.

However, like any other coach in the sport, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is also ensuring that he gets “the best” out of the Portuguese attacker on a regular basis.

“You cannot imagine how João [Felix] plays, I can’t explain it,” Simeone told ESPN Argentina in May. “I spoke to him yesterday. We talk a lot. He told me ‘mister, we always talk about the same things over and over.'”

“He is maturing and he has an amazing amount of talent. I have told him plenty of times that as a coach I want to get the best out of him consistently.”
