Manchester City had a personal triumph as they ended Manchester United's hopes of a treble after a 1-0 win at the Wembley aided by Yaya Toure's goal and Paul Scholes' sending off.

A Man-of-the-Match performance from Yaya Toure was saw his latch on to Michael Carrick's mistake before edging past Nemanja Vidic and slotting into goal through the legs of City keeper Edwin Van der Sar.

It wasn't United's day as Dimitar Berbatov, in for the suspended Wayne Rooney, missed two sitters early in the first half and with Scholes seeing the red for a studs-first lunge on Pablo Zabaleta's thigh, United's hopes of equalizing were dim.

It ended United's hopes of treble and they will now concentrate on the Premiership and the Champions League while City will face the winner of Stoke against Bolton on Sunday in the FA Cup final in four weeks time.
