Manchester United progressed to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League with a 2-1 win over Marseille at Old Trafford in the second-leg of the last-16 round tie.

United's new cult hero, Javier Hernandez, scored in each half and it was enough for his team to progress, despite Wes Brown's own goal in the 82 minute giving the English side a nervous ending. One of the greatest positives which emerged for United was the bulgeoning partnership between Hernandez and Wayne Rooney.
