- Man Utd are planning to sign Sancho on a five-year deal
- Sancho scored 20 goals in 2019-20 season
Manchester United's talks with Borussia Dortmund over Jadon Sancho’s summer move to the Old Trafford are reportedly in "advanced stage".
Although Dortmund still want $141 million as Sancho’s asking price, the German side has agreed to accept less money upfront.
Renowned soccer journalist Fabrizio Romano, who specializes in the transfer market, has tweeted that while no agreement has reached yet, Man Utd will have no problem in agreeing to personal terms with Sancho, who is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Red Devils.
Sancho, who has been Man Utd’s top target over the last few months, scored 17 goals and 17 assists across 32 Bundesliga games last season. Overall, the 20-year-old midfielder netted 20 goals in 44 competitive matches. It was also reported Sancho, who also plays for England national team, prefers Liverpool over their arch-rivals Man Utd after Jurgen Klopp’s side won the 2019-20 Premier League title.
Man Utd were asked to secure the Champions League spot before making an official bid for Sancho. After the Red Devils met the demands by finishing third in the Premier League, the club has been busy closing in the deal.
According to German publication BILD, Dortmund have agreed to receive Sancho’s transfer fee of $141 million in installments, but they have asked Man Utd to submit the official offer by Aug. 10 even though the summer transfer window is due to run till Oct. 5.
Man Utd are currently preparing for their second leg of Round of 16 Europa League fixture against Austrian side LASK, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday (Aug. 5). Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side thrashed these opponents 5-0 in the first leg and are expected to replicate the performance when the two sides meet at Old Trafford for the returning leg, with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba, all in good form.
