  • Jadon Sancho has been Manchester United's top target throughout the summer
  • Dortmund have been adamant about Sancho's asking price of $140 million
  • Sancho reportedly has asked his agents to seal the deal with Man Utd

Jadon Sancho reportedly has asked his representatives to secure his move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United during the ongoing summer transfer window before the deadline day of Oct. 5.

Sancho has been Manchester United’s primary transfer target this summer, but the deal has been stalled because of Dortmund’s hefty asking price of $140 million for the player. Man Utd chief Ed Woodward has maintained the German club is being unreasonable by quoting such a big amount for the 20-year-old midfielder.

Dortmund have insisted Sancho would not be sold this summer after The Red Devils missed the Aug. 10 deadline that was set by the Bundesliga side for Sancho’s deal.

Scottish Sun reported even though Dortmund have been adamant about Sancho’s transfer fee of $140 million, unnamed sources have told the English publication that the deal could be secured at $122 million: $103 million up-front and $19 million in add-ons.

The Scottish Sun report has also claimed "there’s a bit of a stand-off going on" between Man Utd and Dortmund. A source told the English media outlet, "The Red Devils are considering making a final bid for the young star on Wednesday in the hope of forcing the deal across the line."

Soccer website Teamtalk that has a credible record of breaking transfer news has revealed while Dortmund have publicly been confident of having Sancho for another season, the German club has privately come to terms with the fact that Sancho would no longer be their player at the end of the current summer market.

Teamtalk has reportedly been told by an unnamed source that Sancho has asked his agents to seal the Man Utd deal soon. "He wants this deal done. He’s told his agent and various advisors to do all they can to make it happen. They are pushing for him," an anonymous source was quoted by Teamtalk.

Sancho recently missed Dortmund’s German Super Cup clash with Bayern Munich. Dortmund cited the reason for Sancho’s absence as a respiratory infection, but the English national player has tested negative for COVID-19.

Donny van de Beek, who recently moved from Ajax to Man Utd, is The Red Devils' only signing of this summer market so far.
