  • Manchester United could offer Alexis Sanchez in exchange for Jadon Sancho
  • Sancho is Man United's top priority in the summer transfer window
  • Dortmund insists that the club would allow Sancho to leave only "if the price is right"

It’s no secret that Manchester United is desperate to acquire Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho. With plenty of deal scenarios to choose from, the Red Devils are said to strongly consider parting ways with Alexis Sanchez, who may be packaged in an offer to sign the English virtuoso.

According to Talk Sport’s Oliver Dawnay, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not keen on keeping the 31-year-old Chilean, who had been an utter disappointment at Old Trafford for a season prior to being loaned to Inter Milan in 2019.

“Sanchez, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan, is not part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans and Red Devils chiefs are open to letting the Chilean leave the club in the summer,” Dawnay wrote. “The former Arsenal forward, who pockets a staggering £500,000-a-week, struggled to rediscover his best form at United and he has had similar form and fitness issues with Inter.”

It's nearly beyond question that Man Utd is going the extra mile just to acquire the generational talent. And from the long list of potential offers, a deal involving Sanchez has reportedly piqued the senses of Dortmund despite the expensive salary that the ex-Arsenal star is currently entitled with.

“United have offered Sanchez as part of a deal to land the youngster and there is optimism that Dortmund could be interested – despite his jaw-dropping wages,” Dawnay added as he cited a report from Mundo Deportivo.

“Dortmund have a history of rejuvenating older players’ careers, with former Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer the latest to reinvigorate his career at the Westfalenstadion before moving to Sevilla last summer.”

With Man United banging loudly on Dortmund’s door, one could assume that it's just a matter of time until the German club succumbs to the pressure.

But the Bundesliga club dismissed the perception as Lucien Favre does not appear to be losing his sleep amidst the nagging demands from Solskjaer and the Red Devils.

Sancho has just been summoned by Dortmund for allegedly breaking lockdown protocols. But despite the head-scratching off-field antics, the German club insisted that they would only allow the England international to leave Westfalenstadion if they are offered the right price.
