Making adjustments in one’s roster is one of the biggest tasks of a historic club like Manchester United. With this, the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly seeking to develop further goalkeeper Dean Henderson before he makes any significant roster changes.

Finding ways to constantly improve continues to be a priority for the sport’s biggest teams. Despite having a world-class goalkeeper in David De Gea, there’s no question that Solskjaer still sees the value in his other talent.

In fact, having De Gea in his squad gives his younger players the advantage of gaining experience from the star player. The confidence Solskjaer has in De Gea is evident as he recently shared how valuable he was for the team. Per BBC, the Red Devils’ manager opened up how important his keeper is for the club.

“He wins games for us. I still think he is the best goalkeeper in the world," Solskjaer said.

With players such as Henderson loaned to Sheffield United, his growth as a player is further improving. Per Goal.com, Solskjaer is left with a choice on what to do with the 23-year-old standout.

“We need to make sure Dean plays football to develop, so we’re going to make a decision later on,” Solskjaer said.

“He’s had two fantastic years and we appreciate what Sheffield United have done with him as well. So that’s an option, for him to stay at Sheffield United,” Solskjaer added.

At this point in the season, Solskjaer maintains that he still wants to see Henderson improve even more before he sets him up in the bigger stage. This, however, doesn’t mean that Henderson is out of the picture. The veteran manager would want to field Henderson as the main option in the near future for Manchester United.

“I think Dean has had a fantastic couple of years at Sheffield United and I think eventually he will end up as England's No.1 and Man Utd's No.1,” Solskjaer continued.

It will be interesting to see how young stars like Henderson will fit in the team in the coming years. Player development is crucial for the Solskjaer system and it will be crucial for Henderson to make the most out of his experience with Manchester United.
