'The Mandalorian': Billionaire Elon Musk Visits Set, Tries Some Blasters
Jon Favreau recently received an unusual guest at the set of his new show, “The Mandalorian.” It is common for celebrities to visit the sets of “Star Wars” movies, but the first live action TV series got a visit from billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk. The SpaceX and Tesla CEO got to try out some fancy blasters, which he shared a picture of online.
In a picture posted on Instagram, Favreau joked that he and Musk talked about hyperdrive technology on the set of his show. The producer has been sharing pictures from the set from time to time to give the fans an update on what they can expect. His most recent picture on Instagram was that of a droid that looks a lot like the R5-D4 from “A New Hope” that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) almost chose instead of R2-D2.
While Favreau’s picture with Musk doesn’t tease any set details, the entrepreneur did share a snap of a big blaster on Twitter. The businessman didn’t specify that this photo was taken on the set of “The Mandalorian,” but the “Star Wars” feel of the background and the blaster are unmistakable proof that the picture is from the set of the upcoming TV series.
Several actors have had cameo appearances in “Star Wars” movies in the past. Will Musk also be making a cameo appearance in “The Mandalorian”? According to a report by Star Wars Underworld, this scenario is unlikely. Musk is passionate about technology, and he may have been visiting the set of sci-fi series out of curiosity.
Filming of “The Mandalorian” is currently ongoing. The show is set to premiere sometime later this year. The producers have yet to announce an exact release date.
The plot of “The Mandalorian” revolves around a lone warrior played by Pedro Pascal. The plot is set just after the fall of the Empire and before the rise of the First Order. The lone warrior operates outside the influence of the New Republic, and the fans will get to see familiar characters like IG-88 Assassin droid.
