“The Mandalorian” TV series has a lot of nostalgia factor for “Star Wars” fans who love the original trilogy. The show is set around the time when the Empire falls, but the name Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) hasn’t found a mention yet, even in his home world of Tatooine.

The following article contains spoilers from episode 5 of “The Mandalorian.”

Luke Skywalker was instrumental in bringing down the Empire, but the ordinary people in the galaxy are not discussing the hero who saved them. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the reason why the character isn’t mentioned on the show is because for most people the Jedi is just a “fairy tale.”

This perception is in line with what the fans saw in “The Force Awakens.”Rey (Daisy Ridley) also thought that the Jedi are a myth and believed that the stories about Luke bringing down the Empire are just stories.

Although the fans didn’t get to hear the name of Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, the return to the planet gave director Dave Filoni the opportunity to add elements from the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy. Episode 5 of “The Mandalorian” was filled with these Easter eggs.

The episode featured Tusken Raiders, pit droids, and swoop bikes, Screen Rant reported. The character Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) also mentioned the port city of Mos Espa, a city where young Anakin (Jake Lloyd) and his mother lived in “The Phantom Menace.”

The episode also had a similar opening to “The Phantom Menace,” Screen Rant reported. Just as Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) were forced to land on Tatooine after their ship was damaged, the bounty hunter on the show was also forced to land on the planet for repairs.

The next episode of “The Mandalorian” TV series will air on Dec. 13 on the Disney+ streaming platform.
