After the introduction of the Darksaber, “The Mandalorian” Season 2 is set to feature lightsaber duels of Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). In a recent interview, Esposito teased details about the action sequences and confirmed that they will not be CGI.
The first “Star Wars” live action series has already established a name for itself for its practical effects and for taking the viewers back to the gritty desert worlds that were seen in the original trilogy. The next season is going to get the fans more excited by introducing the former Jedi Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson).
Ahsoka is expected to fight Moff Gideon in the next season. In a recent interview with Variety, Esposito admitted that he has filmed action sequences with the Darksaber. The actor hoped that he doesn’t get “busted” for revealing this information.
The action sequences with the Darksaber will be gritty and intense, according to Esposito. The actor revealed that he broke three or three and a half props that were used as the Darksaber. He also confirmed that his action sequences in “The Mandalorian” Season 2 will not be CGI.
Following the huge success of the show, Disney will be releasing a documentary series about how they made the show. A recently released video of the documentary shows some of the scenes the fans can expect to see in the new series.
Director Bryce Dallas Howard revealed in the documentary’s preview video that the process of making the TV series has been about problem solving and achieving breakthroughs. The show creator and executive producer hosted a roundtable discussion with all the directors and complimented the filmmakers for not being afraid to jump in.
The documentary series is titled “Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian.” There will be eight episodes in it and it will be released on May 4, which is celebrated around the world as “Star Wars Day.”
As far as “The Mandalorian” Season 2 is concerned, the filming has already wrapped. While most of the other TV shows have been postponed, the “Star Wars” live action series is scheduled to return on Disney+ in October.
