Editing work of “The Mandalorian” is currently ongoing, and according to the showrunner Jon Favreau, it is “looking great.” After the successful release of his new film “The Lion King,” Favreau has confirmed that he is back at work for the first live action “Star Wars” TV series.

In a recent interview with GQ, Favreau said that he and his team are in “the editing bay” for the TV series. The producer didn’t share any plot details, but he did tease that the show is “looking great.”

Favreau met with “Star Wars” creator George Lucas while he was working on the TV series. Lucas apparently had some advice for Favreau and that was about the importance of the story and keeping the audience in mind while telling that story.

Lucas is reportedly a fan of Joseph Campbell’s “The Hero With a Thousand Faces.” The “Star Wars” creator reminded Favreau that the “real audience” for the stories they tell on screen is “kids that are coming of age.”

Favreau explained that all the fans who are adults enjoy a good story, but storytelling is really about “imparting the wisdom of the previous generations on to the children who are becoming adults, and giving them a context for how to behave and how to learn the lessons of the past without making the mistakes on their own.”

“The Mandalorian” will be one such story about a lone gunfighter. The fans are eagerly waiting to see who this new character is and what his journey will be like in the fictional galaxy.

In a previous interview with “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Favreau said that the plot of the show is set right after the fall of the Empire. The protagonist of the show, played by Pedro Pascal, operates in the Outer Rim, where there is no law. The producer teased that the show is about the “scum and villainy” of the galaxy.

The editing work of “The Mandalorian” has been ongoing for some time now. Favreau previously teased a picture of a cast member recording his dialogues for the show. The TV series is expected to be released in November on the Disney+ streaming service.
