Manny Pacquiao has finally confirmed that negotiations are underway for the highly anticipated Mayweather vs. Pacquiao rematch.

The fight that the world has been waiting for is now taking a step closer to reality. After all the buzz and hype about it these past few weeks, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 is finally under negotiations.

During a brief interview with The Manila Times in Saudi Arabia, fighting senator Pacquiao stated that both his and Mayweather’s camp are already discussing about a possible sequel to their legendary fight.

“My team and his team are talking right now. This is just about negotiations, about the formal discussions. So I don’t know what will happen,” Pacquiao stated.

Pacquiao even added that Mayweather already had several chances to discuss about the fight when he came to Saudi Arabia but apparently, the undefeated champ had too many demands. As a result, the rematch talks broke down several times as well.

“Floyd, he came to Saudi, Dubai and UAE (United Arab Emirates) many times looking for a fight, but he is giving a hard time to the organizer, the promoter or the government [with] so many demands. I mean, he should not give the people here or the promoter here a hard time,” Pacquiao added.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao rematch has been quite a fairytale ever since the Filipino legend defeated Keith Thurman. While the rematch talks was starting to create some noise in the boxing world, Mayweather suddenly was reportedly involved in an exhibition match in China. Reports also claim that should the said match materialize, the Pacquiao rematch is likely to break down.

Shortly after the Mayweather exhibition match came out, other notable names in the welterweight division have set their eyes on Pacquiao in the hope to be his next opponent instead.

Mikey Garcia’s team first released a huge statement claiming that a date for the Pacquiao vs. Garcia fight will soon be announced.

“He’s going to get a date soon. He doesn’t come on Tuesdays when he doesn’t have a fight coming up.’ It’s still in negotiations. It’s a fight that me, my dad and my grandpa like at welterweight,” Peter Garcia of Team Mikey Garcia said.

And just recently, Danny, the other Garcia also sent Pacquiao a unique message in which he sarcastically stated that the legend should pick him as he is an “easy fight.”

“Pick me Manny, I can’t fight. I’m easy,” Garcia claimed

Errol Spence, who just defeated Shawn Porter this past weekend, also expressed consistent desire to fight Pacquiao. According to Spence, there’s too much money involved for the fight with Pacquiao not to happen.

“Too much money out there not for it to happen, too many belts on the line not for it to happen,” Spence noted.
