World class boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is not yet done proving himself inside the boxing ring. Now that he’s 40, his long-time coach and trainer Freddie Roach is starting to notice that Pacquiao's claim to fame killer instincts are fading away.

Just recently, Pacquiao's trusted coach and trainer Freddie Roach just gave a powerful statement regarding the boxing legend's fighting style. Roach explained that when Manny became tight with his religion, it also managed to change his perspective and opinions in boxing during an interview with Sporting News. He also admitted that Manny’s change of view became a reason for their frequent debates. Although this may be true, Roach clarified that his relationship with Manny is still sturdy.

To keep things at peace, the two still respect each other and remain closeness during training. When asked if Pacquiao was best professional he handled, Roach answered no. Manny Pacquiao wasn’t the best when they first met, but today? He believes yes. Furthermore, he pointed out that Pacquiao has excellent footwork and that people should watch Pacquiao if they want to learn about footwork.

Sure, they have made some mistakes that caused Manny to lose before but that doesn’t change Roach’s belief that Pacquiao is truly an amazing boxer.

“Pacquiao is a different individual,” Roach says in an article posted by Yahoo Sports . He has the killer instincts, the strength, the speed, and talent. But what makes him different from Roach’s other trainees is his beliefs and strong ties to his Religion. The other trainees and boxers opt for the option to beat their opponent while Manny believes that he should or must not injure his opponents too much and even if this causes some dispute between him and his coach, it doesn’t change the fact that Pacquiao is still a worthy competition.

Pacquiao is not as active in the boxing world compared to his early years. Aside from boxing, he also became a member of the Senate of the Philippines and became quite active and involved in professional basketball as well. He may have lots of priorities now but that doesn’t mean that Pacquiao won’t fight anymore.

In fact, he is set to face Keith Thurman on July 20 and Roach emphasized that Manny’s speed will become a huge advantage for him to win. All he needs to do is loosen up his hands. Roach also claims that if he manages to ace his moves, it is possible that the world will see Manny’s best performance yet.
