Manny Pacquiao Seriously Rehearsing For First Major Concert In September
Manny Pacquiao recently gave fans a glimpse of what they are about to see in his first major concert happening next month.
Eight-division title holder Pacquiao is still fresh off a 12-round war against Keith Thurman. But from the look of how things are going, it appears that Pacquiao has completely recovered and already working on another blockbuster event.
In a recent social media post, Pacquiao shared some footages from his actual rehearsals. ABS-CBN News compiled all the video clips where the boxing icon can be seen seriously working on his songs.
Even though Pacquiao has already made hit songs in Philippines in the past, the boxing legend admitted that he is not sure if he can make his first concert as successful as his boxing events.
"Hi everyone, I’m going to sing and practice for my concert on September 1. I don't know if I can do it, but I'll try, I’ll do my best," Pacquiao said.
Pacquiao rehearsed his rendition of OPM hits "Pagsubok" by Orient Pearl and "Buwan" by Juan Karlos Labajo. Needless to say, his own hit songs "Para Sa 'Yo" and "Bilog Ang Mundo" will surely be included on the list of tracks he will be performing.
Back in boxing, Pacquiao is evidently the biggest name in the welterweight division. The list of current and former world champions who want to fight Pacquiao goes on. In fact, two-time welterweight world champion Shawn Porter is about to face Errol Spence in September but he can’t seem to stop himself from talking about Pacquiao.
In a recent media scrum, Porter bragged about knowing how to beat, or even knock Pacquiao out. According to Porter, he has “the recipe” Juan Manuel Marquez used in his last fight with Pacquiao where the Mexican boxing star scored an upset KO win over the Filipino legend.
Aside from Porter, Pacquiao’s controversial past opponent Jeff Horn is also one of the possible opponents the legend could face next. Horn’s camp has expressed their desire for a rematch with Pacquiao shortly after the Thurman fight.
However, Floyd Mayweather Jr. apparently is still the favorite to be Pacquiao’s next challenge. A lot of boxing personalities have already stated that “MayPac2” should happen. Just recently, boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard insisted that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 should happen as not only people will watch it, but it is also good for boxing in a “crazy way.”
Pacquiao's first major concert on September 1will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City and it will be free for all his fans.
