Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather 2015: Scorecard, Live Round By Round Coverage Of Fight
The long-awaited super fight between welterweights Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is finally here. Las Vegas oddsmakers expect this bout to go the distance, with the chances slim that there will be a knockout.
The keys for Mayweather is avoiding being pinned against the ropes, and by controlling the pace. Mayweather, considered one of the greatest defensive specialists in boxing history, may need to land his jab effectively to set up his his power punches.
For Pacquiao, experts believe he may need to throw a great number of punches and attack from different angles. Using his southpaw stance, Pacquiao, who is blessed with great speed and power, will need to land his left lead hand to slow down Mayweather and score points.
A key to this fight might be footwork. Because of the difference in stances, one boxer might be stepping on the other's foot. Another key will be CompuBox numbers.
The referee is Kenny Bayless. The judges are Burt Clements, Dave Moretti and Glenn Feldman.
On the undercard is Chris Pearson vs. Said El Harrak, and Brad Solomon vs. Adrian Rene Granados, both of which will be fought at 154 pounds. Jesse Hart and Mike Jimenez will face off in a middleweight bout between a pair of undefeated boxers. Andrew Tabiti and Anthony Caputo Smith faceoff in a cruiserweight bout.
Here is how we are scoring the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight:

In the opening round, Mayweather made early jabs to start. Mayweather delivered a hard straight hand inside the second minute and then another inside the final minute. Pacquiao seemed to respect Mayweather too much in the round.

Pacquiao looked strong in the opening minute, showing a bit more aggression. Mayweather landed a straight right round, followed by a combination. Pacquiao delivered a strong right hand inside the final minute. Tight round.

Round 3
Pacquiao lunged in the first 30 seconds, taking more chances. Mayweather delivered a low blow, but there was no point deduction. The two boxers tangled, as the fight became more contentious. In the final minute, Pacquiao showed some more aggression.

Round 4
Pacquiao had a strong first half of the round, landing some decent power punches. With 1:25 in the round, Pacquiao stunned Mayweather with a series of body punches and power punches to the head. Mayweather blocked some punches, but this is clearly Pacquiao's round.

Round 5
Relatively quiet first minute. Mayweather had some excellent power punches land on Pacquiao inside the second minute. Mayweather did some dodging in the final round, allowing Pacquiao to not land punches. Mayweather was 10/32 in power punches. Pacquiao was 5/35 in power punches.

Round 6
Pacquiao looked strong in the first minute. Bayless had to separate the two boxers, with Mayweather doing some holding. Pacquiao gave some good body shots, and a straight left hand. After a long exchange of Pacquiao punches to the body and head, Mayweather was seen saying "no." Pacquiao did just enough to win this round. Pacquiao had 13 power punches.

Round 7
Mayweather doing a lot of moving around. He has landed some solid right hands in the first two minutes. Pacquiao landed a hard left hand with about 35 seconds. This a tight one.

A good left with 2:25 in the round by Pacquiao. A good counter right by Mayweather just inside the second half of the round, and Mayweather was also able to land a good left hook. This wasn't a decisive round, but Mayweather did just enough because he landed punches and had Pacquiao miss.

Pacquiao made Mayweather backpedal, but didn't really hurt Mayweather in the first minute. Mayweather has been more accurate, and has used his jab more effectively. Pacquiao had a good flurry in the end but it didn't seem like enough. Another tough round to call.

Pacquiao delivered a hard right to the body in the first minute. The second minute was rather quiet. In the final minute, Pacquiao showed more ringmanship and provided more aggression. Both boxers seem slightly tired.

Mayweather started with some big punches that landed like he really wanted to win the round. Bayless made both boxers watch their feet. Pacquiao has been busy but not landing serious punches. Mayweather showed a lot in the round, forcing Pacquiao against the ropes.

In the final round, there was little action. Mayweather did a lot of sticking and moving to win the round, and was efficient by landing his jab. A rather quiet fight, overall.
