Manny Pacquiao Vs. Timothy Bradley 2: Tickets, Date, Undercard For WBO Welterweight Title Fight
In just a few days, Manny Pacquiao will get his rematch with Timothy Bradley. The two will fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The boxers are set to fight on Saturday, April 12, with the WBO welterweight title on the line. Pacquiao last held the belt in June 2012, when he lost it to Bradley in a controversial split decision.
One day after tickets went on sale to the general public, Bob Arum said that he expected Pacquiao to take on Bradley in front of a sell-out crowd. According to the Top Rank CEO, 70 percent of tickets had been sold with a little over two months until the date of the fight. As of Tuesday evening, however, seats were still available at Ticketmaster. The cheapest tickets can be had in the 200 level for $266.70. The most expensive seats are going for over $1,000.
On the secondary ticket market, seats can be had for just under $200. While no floor seats can be had through Ticketmaster, they can be found on StubHub. There, some of the best seats in the house are being offered for upwards of $5,000.
The MGM Grand Garden Arena holds just less than 17,000 people. In November, Pacquiao defeated Brandon Rios in front of a sell-out crowd of 13,200 in Macau, China. The previous month, Bradley defeated Juan Manuel Marquez at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Over 5,600 tickets were, reportedly, available at the start of the fight.
In addition to seeing Pacquiao-Bradley II, fans were expecting to see Roman “Rocky” Martinez face Ray Beltran. The junior lightweight word titleholder dropped out of the bout, because of an illness. Instead, Arash Usmanee will fight Beltran.
"Rocky went to see the doctor twice. That's what Peter Rivera (Martinez's co-promoter) told us," Top rank vice president Carl Moretti told ESPN. "He said Rocky had no energy, low blood sugar and had not been feeling well for four or five days. Maybe he has the flu or something, but whatever it is, he doesn't feel good and pulled out of the fight. He had missed going to the gym for three or four days in a row and on Friday he pulled out. He is just not going to be ready to fight."
The undercard will also feature Khabib Allakhverdiev vs. Jessie Vargas, and Bryan Vasquez against Jose Felix. The WBA junior welterweight title will be on the line when Allakhverdiev and Vargas step in the ring. Vasquez and Felix will fight for the interim-WBA super featherweight championship.
