Brackets, upsets and buzzer beaters will take over America’s vocabulary next week as the NCAA’s 2017 men’s basketball tournament, better known as March Madness, dominates practically everyone’s conversations for the rest of the month.

In the spirit of getting ready for the 68-team tournament, it’s important to know the when, where and how to check out your favorite college squad’s game – or hopefully games – when the action all begins Tuesday, March 14 in Dayton, Ohio with the First Four.

We don’t know, and won’t know for another few days, which teams will participate in this year’s tournament, but we do know where and when they will tip off. The NCAA will announce the tournament’s entire field, including the top seeds, early Sunday evening or right after the conference tournament championships have finished.

Depending on their performances in the conference tournaments, it’s widely believed that Kansas, defending champion Villanova, UCLA, Gonzaga, North Carolina and Oregon were in contention for one of the four highly coveted No. 1 seeds, each representing a technically easier road to the Final Four.

Last month, the NCAA somewhat tipped its hand and revealed which 16 teams, or rather the top four teams for each of the tournament’s four regions, might be. Back then, Baylor joined Kansas, Villanova and Gonzaga as the top seeds. However, that was before the Bears struggled in Big 12 conference play and Gonzaga had lost its first and only game of the season to unranked BYU.

Whomever the NCAA’s Selection Committee picks for the tournament, we already know when March Madness will get into full swing.
