March Madness 2021 Bracket Update: Eight Teams Alive To Win NCAA Tournament
Sixty teams have been eliminated from the 2021 NCAA Tournament field, leaving just eight national championship contenders still standing. The Final Four will be decided with two games Monday night and two more matchups Tuesday.
Your March Madness bracket is probably still in good shape if you had No. 1 seeds Gonzaga, Baylor and Michigan reaching the Elite Eight. All three teams are one victory away from making the Final Four and winning their respective regions.
A few Cinderella teams are still looking to make history. With a win in the Elite Eight, No. 12 Oregon State would become the highest-seeded team to reach the Final Four.
UCLA has a chance to become the fifth No. 11 seed to win its region after upsetting No. 2 Alabama in overtime on Sunday.
No. 2 Houston, No. 3 Arkansas and No. 6 USC are in the Elite Eight, as well. The higher-seed teams are significant favorites in all four Elite Eight matchups.
Oregon State is a 7.5-point underdog against Houston on Monday, according to the betting lines compiled by OddsShark. The point spread is the same for the nightcap, when Baylor takes on Arkansas.
The overwhelming favorite to win the national championship, Gonzaga is the biggest favorite in the Elite Eight. The undefeated Bulldogs are laying nine points against USC on Tuesday. Michigan is a 7.5-point favorite over UCLA in the final Elite Eight game. Both Gonzaga and Michigan had 18-point wins in the Sweet 16.
Oregon State isn't the only Pac 12 team crashing the Elite Eight party. USC has won its three tournament games by a combined 64 points after defeating conference rival Oregon on Sunday. UCLA has already won four tournament games since it was part of the First Four prior to the first round.
The winners of Monday’s contests will meet Saturday in the Final Four. Tuesday’s winners will face off in Saturday semifinals with a trip to the national title game on the line.
The remainder of the tournament will be played at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium.
