Pop singer Mariah Carey took to Instagram on Thursday to announce that her 1994 holiday ballad, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" has topped the charts at No. 1 for the fourth year in a row.

"Grateful," Carey captioned her post which featured the singer alongside Billboard's senior vice president of charts and data development, Silvio Pietroluongo.

Carey's holiday hit beat out Taylor Swift's "Anti-Hero" this week for the No. 1 all-genre spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Swift's song had topped the charts for six weeks.

"All I Want for Christmas is You" was released by Carey in 1994 as part of her debut holiday album, "Merry Christmas." The song first enter the Billboard top 10 in 2017. According to Billboard, in 2019, the song became Carey's 19th career song to reach the top of the charts. It is the first song in history to have four separate runs at No. 1: 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

The song has gained massive popularity during the holiday season in recent years which may be attributed to the growing use of music streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music. In 2017, the Economist reported that Carey, the self-titled "Queen of Christmas," had earned over $60 million in royalties on the song since its debut.

The original music video for the catchy pop song has over 743 million views on YouTube. The artist released a new music video, "Make My Wish Come True Edition" for the song in 2020 which has garnered over 343 million views.

Carey performed the hit song at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday in a "Merry Christmas To All" concert event. It was reported that the singer gifted free front-row tickets to one attendee, who had traveled from Uraguay for the concert.

Carey is set to perform again for the holiday event on Friday night.
