Mariah Carey Splits From Bryan Tanaka To Get Back Together With Nick Cannon?
Mariah Carey’s five-month relationship with her backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka, has ended.
According to TMZ, Carey and Tanaka decided to call it quits after the latter felt disrespected by the singer’s cordial relationship with her estranged husband, Nick Cannon. The alleged last blow for the professional dancer came when Carey decided to join Cannon and their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on March 11. And in his attempt to get even, Tanaka was rumored to have flirted with other women in front of Carey to spite her.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Cannon joked about the reports, saying, “Most men are jealous of me. I’m joking. But I know nothing about it… We have kids together, so we’ll always be family.” Carey was married to Cannon for several years before they decided to split in 2014. Their divorce was finalized in November 2016. Despite their breakup, Carey and Cannon have maintained an amicable relationship for the sake of their 5-year-old twins.
Meanwhile, Carey and Tanaka have also been feuding about money. The publication claimed that the latter got used to having such an expensive lifestyle ever since he started dating the former “American Idol” judge. According to The Huffington Post, Tanaka’s spending habits and mistrust of Carey and Cannon could be indications that he just stuck around with the singer to gain fame.
A source told People that Carey’s friends and family have been urging the singer to split from Tanaka. “The split happened very recently. Mariah ended it – everyone hoped that she would. She has better things to focus on. Mariah is happy. She is focusing on her kids and new music. Bryan was a good distraction after she split from James Packer. This is a good time for her to be single and focus on herself,” the insider said.
