Marijuana Argument Ends With Woman Allegedly Attacking Wife With A Bedpost
A Louisiana woman was arrested in Florida last Monday after allegedly attacking her wife with a bedpost after an argument involving marijuana.
Ashley Perkins, 30, who resides in Youngsville, was visiting family at the time in Navarre, Florida, on Monday, reports Pensacola News Journal. She and her spouse allegedly fought following an argument over marijuana accidentally being put into a washing machine.
Perkins, in a police report, according to The Smoking Gun, admitted having “tussled” with her wife over marijuana around 7:45 p.m. on May 20 but said she did not use a bedpost to hurt her or any other item. She reportedly changed her story on the way to jail, saying her spouse "picked up the bedpost and began beating herself, causing the injuries."
The unidentified 48-year-old spouse, who was hospitalized with cuts on her arm and contusions on the back of her head and legs, told Santa Rosa County Sheriff investigators that her wife beat her after finding out she "accidentally placed" the drug "in the washer," according to the report.
Perkins has been charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm or disability.
