‘Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’ For Nintendo Switch File Size Revealed
“Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” will be released for the Nintendo Switch in just a few weeks, and many are wondering about the game’s file size. Thanks to a retailer’s listing of the game, it has been revealed that the game won’t take up too much storage space on the console.
“Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” is listed as having a file size of only 6.75GB, according to Amazon Germany’s official product page. This will most certainly be a relief for users who plan on buying and downloading the game for the Switch from the Nintendo online eShop.
The file size is a whole lot smaller when compared to other games. “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” for example has a file size of 13.4GB for the Nintendo Switch. The Wii U version of “Mario Kart 8” is also still larger by having a file size that’s around 8.2GB, as pointed out by GameSpot.
As previously announced by Nintendo, “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” for the Switch will include all the DLCs and extra game modes that were released for the Wii U. It’s quite impressive that Nintendo was able to squeeze all of the game’s content at a size that’s even smaller than its Wii U counterpart.
The Nintendo Switch only comes with 32GB of onboard storage. This has been criticized by some for being meager, but the console does come with expandable storage of up to 2TB through its micrSD card slot. Users should have no problem downloading “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” but microSD cards appear to be a necessity for those who have a large library of games.
“Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” is scheduled for release on April 28. In the meantime, fans can check out a 26-minute preview of the game’s multiplayer mode thanks to the German YouTube channel GamersGlobal.
