Mark Consuelos’ First Photo As Hiram Lodge In ‘Riverdale’ Season 2 Released

Mark Consuelos’ first photo as Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) dad, Hiram Lodge, was recently released online.

In the exclusive photo unveiled via Entertainment Weekly, Hiram is seen walking hand-in-hand with his wife, Hermione (Marisol Nichols). The two don’t necessarily look like they are having a lot of fun, but they will most certainly reunite in “Riverdale” Season 2.

While speaking with the publication, Consuelos likened his character to Jaws because Hiram was widely talked about despite not really being part of the series in Season 1. “I like to say he’s like Jaws. You didn’t see him. You knew he was there. There’s danger there. His presence is felt,” he said.

But this will change in the upcoming episodes of the hit The CW series when Hiram decides to return to Riverdale for the sake of his wife and daughter. “He loves loves loves his family and he’s fiercely protective over all of that and anything that has anything to do or comes into contact with his family. Also, he probably loves a power a little bit too. He’s enamored with that,” he said.

In Season 1, Archie’s (KJ Apa) dad, Fred (Luke Perry), came into contact with his wife. The two had a brief fling with each other, and Hiram wasn’t very happy about it. Fred was shot in the finale for Season 1, and there are speculations that Hiram might have something to do with it.

And since Archie is in a relationship with his daughter, Hiram will try to get close to Archie and get to know him better. “Is he manipulating him or is mentoring him? Is he mentoring him or is seeing what he is made of? You really really don’t know, and I think that’s the fun part,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hiram isn’t the only new character to join “Riverdale” Season 2. Graham Phillips has been cast as Nick St. Clair, Veronica’s ex-boyfriend. Unfortunately, Hiram didn’t reveal whether or not he likes Nick for his daughter.

Vanessa Morgan has also been tapped to play the role of Toni Topaz. She will be Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) first friend when he goes to Southside High.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EDT.
