Mark Wahlberg Wants ‘Mile 22’ Trilogy To Be His Claim To Fame
Las Vegas - Mark Wahlberg has big plans for his next feature film, “Mile 22.” On Tuesday, during CinemaCon’s STX Entertainment presentation, the veteran actor dished on the upcoming action film and revealed plans to make into a trilogy.
“We want to keep it grounded,” Mark told CinemaCon attendees, calling the project, which follows a CIA officer and an Indonesian police officer as they work to tackle political corruption, a “very intelligent adult action film.”
While only Wahlberg, WWE’s Ronda Rousey, Iko Uwais and director Peter Berg have signed on so far, Wahlberg has set his sights on making the movie the project of his career. “I still don’t feel like I have the role that defines me,” he admitted. “I hope this is going to be the thing.”

Despite having dozens of action movies premiering this year at CinemaCon, STXfilms Chairman Adam Fogelson said the “unique” “Mile 22” will be welcomed into the movie arena. “There is absolutely room in the action space,” he said.
“Mile 22” does not have a release date.
