'Married At First Sight' Cast Member Doug Hehner Fakes Plastic Surgery After Jamie Otis Premiere Criticism
Did a “Married At First Sight” participant get plastic surgery? When viewers watched Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis get married on the premiere of the reality show, they heard two very different reactions. Doug was thrilled that Jamie was beautiful, while his bride seemed uncertain if she would say, “I do,” after seeing her husband and admitting that she wasn't attracted to him.
"Married At First Sight" is a new FYI series that chronicles three couples who are perfect matches, scientifically. Experts paired them together after a series of extensive interviews, and the participants agree to marry the person chosen by experts without meeting them ... meaning they marry a complete stranger.
While Jamie Otis is no stranger to reality shows, "Married At First Sight" is Doug's first try at reality televison. There are likely plenty of internet commenters voicing their opinions on his appearance. Did the pressure get to him? Would the reality star go as far as getting plastic surgery to appease his new wife?
Doug posted this photo to Facebook on July 11 with the caption: “You have spoke, and I have listened!! I just hope the old saying is true that chick's dig scars, because there has never been an old saying about chick's digging moles. #marriedatfirstsight #FYI.”
While plenty of Hehner’s Facebook fans thought he actually removed moles, the reality star was shocked that anyone believed the picture.
The New Jersey native commented on the post, “Hahaha - OK..... What's surprising is not that people believed I would actually get rid of my moles, it's that my scotch tape and gauze actually passed as a real post surgical bandage.”
While his plastic surgery isn't real, his wedding to a stranger is the real deal. Viewers still don’t know if Jamie will actually marry Doug. Jamie was seen having cold feet at the end of last week’s episode. For full details on the series premiere, check out our recap.
“Married At First Sight” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on FYI. Will you be tuning in?
