‘Married At First Sight’ Spoilers: Who Told Keith About Iris’ Virginity? [RECAP]
The weddings continued in “Married at First Sight” Season 9, episode 2. The Lifetime reality show featured the other half of the cast getting married and their wedding receptions. There was definitely some parental drama. From sobbing dads to moms who
Jamie and Elizabeth
As she walks down the aisle, Elizabeth is giggling because she’s nervous. Her dad asks if she recognizes him, but she doesn’t actually know him. They’re both anxious but excited to meet at the altar, and they have a big kiss as soon as they’re married.
Her dad isn’t thrilled about all the kissing that follows the ceremony, and Elizabeth comments during their first dance that her dad looks like he wants to kill her new husband.
He seems in good spirits during his toast, though. He reveals that his daughter has expired tags on her car and asked him to figure that out for her. He gave Jamie the paperwork since taking care of Elizabeth is his job now.
Elizabeth and Jamie’s mom share a nice moment where the bride promises she won’t come between the two of them. The matriarch says Jamie has enough love for them both.
Elizabeth’s bridesmaids question Jamie about his intentions. He plays it coy, but when they’re on their way to the hotel room, Elizabeth makes her plans clear. “I know we just met, but can you help me out of this dress?” she asks. He’s willing to lend a helping hand.
Deonna and Gregory
They feel a little awkward during their photoshoot. Deonna doesn’t usually kiss on the first date, but she feels comfortable with him because he seems “very respectable.” Her husband feels awkward, but he knows they have chemistry.
The reception was drama-free for these two, but surely things will change on the honeymoon.
Amber and Matt
Their two-foot height difference makes their first dance a little funny, but they don’t seem to mind it. They’re both really attracted to each other and very affectionate.
Apparently, no one told the DJ that Matt’s mom did not attend. When the DJ calls for his mom a second time, Amber’s mother stepped in to dance with him.
Earlier, they decided to hold off on getting into why Matt’s parents aren’t there. But later, Amber’s bridesmaids talk to Matt, and he reveals that he didn’t tell his parents about the wedding. They used to be close, but their divorce changed things.
Amber tells her friends that they’re going to have sex on the wedding night.
Iris and Keith
Iris is a little nervous about being a virgin before she heads down the aisle. After they get hitched, her nerves melt away. These two get along and seem to really like each other. His hand is on her butt during their first dance, which gets quite a reaction from their audience.
Her father starts crying during the reception. He says letting go of his daughter is difficult. He is still outside when they call for the father-daughter dance, so they instead let Keith dance with his mother first.
Keith’s mom chats with Iris and comments on her white gown. Iris says it represents purity because she is a virgin, so she informed her mother-in-law of her sexual experience (or lack thereof, rather) before she told her husband. She is shocked to hear that.
His mom thinks it’s important for her son to know this. Rather than waiting for Iris to have that conversation with Keith, she runs over to tell him herself. She tells him about the significance of a pure white dress, and he looks surprised. “That’s pretty heavy,” he says. “I really don’t know how I feel about it.”
He tells the cameras that he never imagined his wife would be a virgin. He feels like it adds a lot of pressure, and he knows that he has to be patient and caring.
Iris seemed sure that they’d wait to have sex, but as they head to bed, she admits that she is just going to go with the flow. After all, they are married.
