‘Married at First Sight’ Star Lillian Vilchez Dishes On Her Relationship With Tom Wilson After Finishing The Show
“Married at First Sight” Season 4 couples made their final decisions on Tuesday, and there was happy news! The two remaining couples decided to stay together, which means they’ve been keeping their romance a secret for months. Now that the news is out, Lillian Vilchez can dish on her marriage to Tom Wilson. It seems her husband continued to be a sweetheart even after the cameras stopped rolling.
Season 4 viewers know that Lillian needed a surgery on her shoulder. It was a source of stress for her, and Tom didn’t really help when he tried to insist that alternative medicine could help her. However, after her surgery, it sounds like Tom was an angel.
“I know you guys didn’t get to see this on the show but I was so worried that Tom wouldn’t be there for me during my shoulder surgery,” Lillian confessed to Season 1 participant Jamie Otis on her blog. “But I was so pleasantly and happily surprised when he dropped everything to take care of me when I needed it the most. Right there I knew I could count on him for life.”
Lillian doesn’t just mean he drove her home from the hospital. It sounds like Tom went into full nurse-mode to help his recovering wife. “When I say he dropped everything I mean it! He didn’t work a whole week because I couldn’t get up on my own,” the real estate agent said. “He helped me go to the bathroom, he cooked for me, made sure I had everything I needed — hell, he even helped me shower! I was in so much pain and couldn’t do anything on my own.”
Tom’s actions only helped to reaffirm Lillian’s decision to stay married. “He stepped up to the plate and was the best team player on earth!” she said. “Then and there I knew I could fall madly in love with this man.”
It seems Tom is just as happy. He shared a selfie, above, right after the finale to celebrate their secret finally being out.
Lillian and Tom are in a small group of “Married at First Sight” success stories. Most couples from the four seasons have divorced. Only Jamie and Doug Hehner as well as Cortney and Jason Carrion are still together from previous seasons. Next week’s reunion special will reveal if both Tom and Lillian as well as Sonia Granados and Nick Pendergrast are still together six months later.
The “Married at First Sight” Season 4 reunion airs Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on FYI.
