Martin Lawrence Files For Divorce With Second Wife Shamicka: Seeks Joint Custody Of Both Daughters

“Bad Boys” star Martin Lawrence has filed for divorce with wife Shamicka, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

TMZ reported that the duo had jointly petitioned for the physical and legal custody of their two daughters Iyanna, 11, and Amara, 9, at Los Angeles County Superior Court. E! Online confirmed the news Thursday.

The pair was married for two years before announcing their split on April 24. The actor-comedian Lawrence and Shamicka Gibbs tied the knot in 2010 after 15 years of living in and raising two daughters together.

Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together, they said in a joint statement released by their representative.

The 47-year-old star also has a daughter with ex-wife Patricia Southall. According to People, the estranged couple has requested that their assets be divided under the terms of a prenuptial agreement.
