Marvel Animation VP Teases A Crossover In An Upcoming Marvel Series; Will Jessica Jones Or Iron Fist Appear In ‘Luke Cage’?
If there’s one thing Marvel TV fans love, it’s a crossover. “Jessica Jones” Season 1 introduced Luke Cage as the man with unbreakable skin and super strength. Rumors of Jones crossing over to the upcoming Netflix series “Luke Cage” have been doing the rounds online. Some even speculate that Iron Fist could be introduced on the show about the Power Man.
However, none of these rumors have been confirmed by either Marvel or the actors playing the superheroes. Nevertheless, a recent Q&A session with Stephen Wacker, the Vice President of Marvel Animation, revealed that a live action crossover is coming soon.
On Tumblr, an anonymous person asked Wacker if any more “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” crossovers will happen with Marvel Animation. To which the VP cryptically replied, “Not at the moment. But there is another live action crossover coming …”
This reply has led to discussions on which characters will crossover in Marvel TV or whether Wacker simply meant a live action character was crossing over to an animated show or vice versa. Either way, may fans on SpoilerTV have started speculating whether Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) or Iron Fist/Danny Rand (Finn Jones) will appear in “Luke Cage,” which is scheduled to release on Netflix on Sept. 30.
However, another crossover teased by Wacker could be between ABC’s “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and Freeform’s “Cloak And Dagger.” Given that Freeform and ABC are owned by the same company, it would be easy for characters from both shows to crossover.
“Luke Cage” stars Mike Colter as the titular hero who tries to rebuild his life in Harlem, New York City. But a battle at the heart of the city forces him to come out of the shadows and confront a past he buried.
“Luke Cage” releases all 13 episodes on Netflix on Friday, Sept. 30.
