A comeback for a Marvel superhero has happened before. Robert Downey Jr. had finished the “Iron Man” franchise but was featured in “Captain America: Civil War” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming."

Captain America was involved in a final fight with Thanos in “Avengers: End Game.” He traveled back in time to return all the Infinity Stones they collected and later decided to live a long and normal life with Peggy Carter.
Marvel has made no public comments about the status of Captain America.
Due to the pandemic, many big-budget films have not gone into production.
