'Marvel's Avengers' Latest Patch Adds New Outpost, ‘Tachyon Rift’ Missions And Cosmic Gear

The latest patch for “Marvel’s Avengers” will bring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes some new missions and exciting new gear.

Patch 1.3.3 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia and PC will add Tachyon Rifts, which contain new gear, and the Substation Zero Outpost. The latter should lead to new twists in the Avengers’ story and (hopefully) the long-expected addition of Kate Bishop as DLC.

The 1.3.3 patch for “Marvel’s Avengers” is now live on PS4, Xbox One and PC, via Steam. The new content will be available on Thursday.

The latest patch from developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix comes on the heels of September’s patch 1.3.0, which focused on resolving bug issues, small graphics fixes, progression stoppers and everything in between.

In the new patch, the Substation Zero Outpost will allow the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division (SHIELD) to look into temporal anomalies caused by the game’s main adversaries, namely Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.). It will appear in the Pacific Northwest region of the War Table.

Tachyon Rift missions will place players in dangerous situations in which they constantly receive damage from Tachyon storms. But the rift also provides bonus Heroic energy. A 140 Power Level is the minimum requirement for these missions that are available only once per day.

High-powered Cosmic Gear will also be available in the Tachyon Rift missions, meaning more power available for the core team of Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel. It is not clear what the Cosmic Gear does.

Patch 1.3.3 for “Marvel’s Avengers” will also be adding several other fixes, including the following highlights:

• Remote faction terminals have been added to outposts, which allow the collection of faction assignments and villain sector bounties without the need to visit each faction coordinator in person.
• Extended pickup radius for reward drops.
• The ability to preview cosmetic vendor items.
• Option to scale subtitle/closed caption text size.
• Closed Captions will no longer be automatically displayed in cinematics when subtitles are displayed.
• Movement speed increased in outposts when in Avengers Initiative
• AI companion improvements, including assistance when a player needs to be revived.
• Improved Mega Hive rewards. They now are guaranteed to give two exclusive exotic gear items and increased amounts of upgrade modules upon completion
• Implemented a fix that will retroactively grant Iron Man's iconic outfit for players who previously lost it due to a bug.
