'The Marvels': Brie Larson Teases Fans By Posing With Marvel Villain Zawe Ashton [Photos]
Marvel star Brie Larson took to Instagram on Monday to share a series of photos featuring the new addition to the "Captain Marvel" sequel, actress Zawe Ashton, who will be playing the main villain.
In the caption of the photo, the 32-year-old actress encouraged fans to come up with their theories, considering the fact that Larson, who is the protagonist in the movie, wore a black t-shirt that reads: "Villain Lovers Club."
"Marvel fans, start your theories," Larson wrote along with a wink emoji.
Ashton, 37, took to the comments section to tease fans further as she wrote, "This. Is. A. Tough. One…" Marvel fans also immediately took to the comments section to share their reaction. The name of Ashton's character in the movie has not been revealed.
One of the fans noted they already come up with various theories without even asking, "We literally do it without anyone asking THEN YOU DO !!! THIS !!!!!" Another fan noted, "Captain marvel is a hero bc she will be to powerful as villain."
A user commented that in the upcoming sequel, "The Marvels," Captain Marvel's character might join the Guardians team or at least meet them in the sequel or in the third installment of "Guardians of the Galaxy."
A fan wrote, "Talos will betray Carol in The Marvels & join forces with Villain Lovers Club," while another fan suggested, "Captain Marvel will be the new leader of The Avengers."
Larson is currently filming for the sequel of the movie, "The Marvels," which is slated to release on Feb. 17, 2023. The science-fiction adventure is directed by Nia DaCosta, and it will also star Park Seo-joon, Samuel L. Jackson, Iman Vellani and Randall Park.
Besides the Marvel project, the actress will also feature in a TV series titled "Lessons in Chemistry," which is based on a female scientist. The details of the drama series are yet to be revealed.
Ashton, on the other hand, will be seen playing Julia's character in the upcoming period drama, "Mr. Malcolm's List." The movie is helmed by director Emma Holly Jones and penned by Suzanne Allain. It is currently under post-production and expected to release in 2022.
