Marvel’s ‘Cloak And Dagger’: 5 Things To Know About New Freeform Series
For the first time, Freeform is venturing into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The network released the official trailer of “Cloak and Dagger,” its first live-action superhero series. Although the new TV show is scheduled to release in 2018, its plot details, cast and characters are already known.
Here are five things you should know about this upcoming Marvel series:
1. It Tells The Story Of Two Teenagers Form Diverse Backgrounds
The plot revolves around two teenagers – Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) who have superpowers. The two realize that these newly acquired powers are mysteriously linked to one another.
While Tandy emits light daggers, Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. However, they both come from very diverse backgrounds. Tandy is more well-off than Tyrone.

2. Tandy And Tyrone Have Feelings For Each Other
The two quickly learn that they are better off together than apart in Marvel’s “Cloak and Dagger.” However, their partnership is tested and becomes complicated when they develop feelings for each other.
3. The Plot Is Set In New Orleans
Both Tandy and Tyrone are New Orleans natives.
4. The Cast
Besides Bowen and Joseph, the cast of “Cloak & Dagger” also consists of Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, James Saito and J.D. Evermore.
5. Marvel’s “Cloak And Dagger” Consist Of 10 Episodes
Freeform has ordered 10 one-hour episodes of the live-action Marvel series. Also, the biggest names in Marvel are attached to this show. “Heroes” writer Joe Pokaski is the showrunner and executive producer of the series. Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb, who has worked on “The Punisher” and “The Defenders,” also serves as an executive producer. Jim Chory, who has also worked on “The Punisher” and “The Defenders,” is also a producer on this show.
