Mashup Video 'The Hunger Game Of Thrones' Pits Katniss Everdeen Against Jon Snow
It’s Katniss Everdeen against Jon Snow. In a mashup video titled “The Hunger Game of Thrones: Jon Snow Must Die,” the two iconic characters are pitted against each other. Everdeen is the main protagonist in “The Hunger Games” book and movie franchise while Snow is one of the well-loved characters in HBO's “Game of Thrones.” [scroll down for video]
The Hollywood Reporter shared a video created by David Elmaleh, which features a mashup of scenes from the two popular shows. “The Hunger Games” has enjoyed massive success as a movie adaptation of a book series of the same name. Three feature films have already been released in the franchise while a fourth, titled “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” will hit theaters in November.
“Game of Thrones” is a TV show, which is also based on a book series titled “A Song of Ice and Fire,” by George R.R. Martin. Incidentally, “The Hunger Games” heroine Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, is on a mission to fight against a man also named Snow. President Snow is a brutal dictator who is the main target of Everdeen’s revolutionary movement. In “Game of Thrones,” Jon Snow is played by Kit Harington and is one of the most popular characters in the series.
The video mashup takes advantage of scenes from the trailer of “Mockingjay Part 2,” in which Everdeen speaks openly about her mission to take down Snow. The clips are cleverly edited with scenes from the most recent season of “Game of Thrones” where Jon Snow encountered a lot of violence and a mutiny, which might have resulted in his death. He was last seen lying on the ground, with blood pooling under him from multiple stab wounds.
Millions of fans worldwide are still devastated about the attack, but his fate is still the center of speculation. The questions won’t be answered until the series returns in April 2016 or until the sixth book installment is published, whichever comes first. Meanwhile, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” is scheduled to hit theaters in November 2015.
