‘The Masked Singer’ Contestant Guesses: Theories About Episode 2’s Celebrity Cast
Fans might’ve found out who was under the Pineapple mask during Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer,” but episode 2 also gave viewers five other mystery celebrity contestants to wonder about. Luckily, there are clues to help narrow down the guesses.
Here are our theories on who’s behind each of the remaining masks.
Joey Fatone or JC Chasez is Rabbit
In the clue package, he said he spent most of his life on stage, but he wasn’t there alone. He also said he does synchronized singing and that he’s in a band. That all adds up to him being in a boy band.
Then it gets narrowed down to him being an NSYNC member because he said he “pops” up here and there, like the band’s song, “Pop.” Plus, the Rabbit’s costume has a straightjacket, like the group’s “I Drive Myself Crazy” video.
The topper? “You better believe the last mask standing is gonna be me,” he said, which is likely in reference to NSYNC’s popular “It’ Gonna Be Me” track.
The five members of the group are then narrowed down to just two because of the height given (5’ 11”), which only Fatone and Chasez come in at.
La Toya Jackson is Alien
The clues for this contestant are the least helpful of them all, but there are a few items that help make Jackson a good guess. For starters, she said she’s from a famous family, has many sisters and grew up in the public’s eye. That sounds like it could be someone from the Kardashian-Jenner, Braxton or Jackson family.
The height of 5’ 5” is what puts La Toya as a good candidate, since she’s the only female from those famous families who rings in at that height.
Ricki Lake is Raven
All of the clues line up for Raven being revealed as Lake. The 5’ 4” star hosted a talk show where she listened to people’s stories, and this show had a built-in audience. The recent tragic loss in her life was the death of her ex-husband in 2017. Plus, she said, “Don’t cry, baby, this one’s for you,” which could be referring to her 1990 movie, “Cry-Baby.”
Margaret Cho is Poodle
Why is Cho our guess for this masked singer? Because she’s from San Francisco, where she started “taking on a character” on stage since she was in an improv group in school.
She’s the right height (5’ 5”), and she’s spoken about her fluctuating weight in the past. On top of all of that, she’s known for speaking out in support of the LGBTQ community, and she said she’s “here for your honor,” which is something the actress — who was on Lifetime’s legal drama, “Drop Dead Diva” — might say.
Gladys Knight is Bee
There’s not too much information to go off when it comes to Bee, but the clues that prove to be the most useful are the contestant’s height (5’ 4”), the fact that she started singing in the ‘50s and the tidbit about the term “empress” fitting her. Knight is the correct height, she first performed in 1952 on the “The Original Amateur Hour” program, and she’s known as the Empress of Soul.
Which of these guesses and theories, if any, are correct? You’ll just have to keep watching “The Masked Singer” on Wednesdays on Fox at 9 p.m. EST to find out.
