‘Master Of None’ Season 2 Release Date Revealed
After more than a year on a hiatus, “Master of None” fans finally know when to expect Season 2. Netflix revealed the release date of Aziz Ansari’s comedy Wednesday.
“Master of None” Season 2 will premiere Friday, May 12 on Netflix. As is the case for most Netflix shows, all the episodes in Season 2 will be released at the same time.
The first season of the show, which was released in November 2015, ended with Dev (Ansari) deciding to go to Italy for cooking school. It seems like he’ll be following through on that dream. In the teaser trailer, seen above, it appears Dev is riding a scooter through the Italian countryside. It looks like he brought Arnold (Eric Wareheim) as well.
“One thing we want to do is, for whatever portion is set in Italy, we want to take advantage of where we are and make sure we’re telling a story that necessitates being told in Italy and takes advantage of the differences between the [Italian and American] cultures,” Aziz told the Hollywood Reporter last year. “I’m not saying we’re doing a bunch of culture-clash misunderstanding stuff, but we’d be crazy to shoot there and not take advantage of that thematically and aesthetically."
Ansari also gave viewers a look at Dev’s new life on Instagram last year while the comedy was filming in Europe. At least it seems like that’s what all of these pasta-themed photos were hinting at.
The second season of “Master of None” is highly anticipated by television critics. The first season was praised, and it won the Critics’ Choice Television Award for best comedy series as well as a Peabody Award last year. The episode “Parents” even earned Ansari and his co-creator Alan Yang an Emmy for best writing.
