Masters 2022 Picks: Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka Are Top Bets To Win Championship
Golf fans still believe that Tiger Woods can win another major tournament. In the days leading up to the first round at Augusta National Golf Club, Woods is the most popular pick to win the 2022 Masters.
No golfer has received more bets at BetMGM to win the 2022 Masters than Woods. Nearly 8% of the wagers for this week’s championship have been placed on the 15-time major winner.
Woods begins Masters Week with 50/1 odds to win the championship at BetMGM. While still a long shot, those odds suggest that it’s within the realm of possibility for the 46-year-old to take home his sixth green jacket.
Woods has not competed on the PGA Tour since a car accident in February 2021 nearly cost him his leg. The idea that Woods might compete in the tournament gained momentum last week when it was reported that he flew to Augusta and practiced on the course. On Sunday, Woods said his status for the 2022 Masters would be a game-time decision.
Nineteen golfers are given better odds than Woods to win this year’s championship. Jon Rahm is the favorite with +1100 odds. Justin Thomas is second with +1200 odds for the Masters championship.
Brooks Koepka isn’t far behind with +2000 odds. Koepka is the second-most popular pick, receiving 5.4% of the Masters’ bets.
A four-time major winner, Koepka’s best finish at Augusta came in 2019 when he was the runner-up to Woods, who shocked the world that year by winning his fifth green jacket.
Scottie Scheffler has +1600 odds and is the third-most popular bet at 4.6%. Scheffler enters Augusta as the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world.
