  • There was an explosion on the set of "The Matrix 4"
  • Cars were seen flipping in the air
  • None of the cast and crew members appear to have been injured

The filming of “The Matrix 4” got a little too intense for the people in San Francisco recently. There was reportedly a huge explosion at the production set that led to some damage that included cars flipping in the air.

The cast and crew were busy filming an action sequence and there was a blast on the set, Screen Rant reported. The production team is said to be using practical effects for the action sequences, which may have gone out of control.

The explosion reportedly led to some of the cars nearby flipping in the air and the plastic of a private signboard melted. The cost of the total damage has been estimated to be around $2,000.

A team of professionals were involved in the filming of the action sequence. They reportedly planned the explosion and did it efficiently, but the damage it caused has apparently led to some people in San Francisco feeling angry and concerned.

Cast members Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss where spotted filming some of the scenes for the movie together recently. The two actors are reprising their respective roles of Neo and Trinity, and so far there have been no reports about any of the cast and crew members getting injured during filming.

Stunt doubles were previously used to film an action sequence involving Neo and Trinity. A video from the production set that has surfaced online showed the stunt doubles jumping off of a skyscraper and then flying off into the air, Screen Rant reported. The videos suggest that the fans will get to see some familiar powers of the heroes while they are inside the Matrix in the film.

The new story will also be bringing in some new characters. “Spartacus” star Ellen Hollman has been cast in an undisclosed role in the upcoming film, The Wrap reported.

“The Matrix 4” will be released on May 21, 2021.
