Matt Lauer Update: Anchor Spotted With Wife Annette Roque Amid Divorce Rumors
Matt Lauer has been fighting to save his marriage with wife Annette Roque since being fired by NBC over sexual harassment allegations. Although there are rumors the couple is headed for a divorce and the Dutch model is furious with her husband, the two were recently spotted in the same place.
Following a report the model kicked her husband out of the Hamptons, New York home they share with their children, TMZ shared photos of Roque and Lauer heading into a horse farm in Sag Harbor, Long Island on Monday. Although the two did not arrive together, they appeared to both be inside the stable at 11 a.m. EST.
This is not the first time the couple has been spotted visiting a horse farm together since the anchor was fired for sexual misconduct. In December, E! News reported Lauer met up with Roque and their daughter, Romy, to visit with the animals ahead of the Christmas holiday.
After being terminated from the “Today” show, Lauer’s marriage has remained at the center of divorce rumors. Shortly after the network cut ties with the journalist, who allegedly had affairs with other women, he and Roque were seen no longer wearing their wedding rings.
While the two have not filed any legal documents for a formal separation or divorce, a source told Page Six it is only a matter of time before Roque pulls the plug following 20 years of marriage.
Insiders told the media outlet the model “is being very cold” even though Lauer is working to save their marriage.
Lauer and Roque first married in October 1998. The couple had their first son, Jack, in 2001, followed by a daughter, Romy in 2004. In 2006, Roque was pregnant with their third child, a son, Thijs, and was also in the process of filing for divorce. Three weeks later, she withdrew the paperwork and decided to stay in the marriage.
However, following reports Roque has forced Lauer to leave their family home, outsiders will just have to wait and see whether the two will be able to mend their relationship or if divorce will be their final choice.
